Dr Heise is Associate Director for the Florida Institute for Human and Machine Cognition. She previously served 20 years in the United States Air Force, where she was most recently Director of the Mathematics and Information Sciences Directorate at the Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR). Dr Heise holds the Ph.D. degree in Control Engineering from Cambridge University, England. She is an associate fellow of the AIAA and a senior member of the IEEE.

UWF’s Unmanned System’s Group and its Programs
This presentation will be presented by Mr. Shawn Adams, Deputy Program Manager & Mr. David Algeo, Program Manager, UWF Unmanned Systems Lab. They will speak in un-classified detail of on all three of their programs – the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), the Unmanned Ground System, and the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle which took 2nd place in the international competition this past July. The presenters will actually bring actual units utilised in competition’s and place them on display. Additionally, They will also be bringing the “target” that is utilised for development. As “live” items and not mere mock-ups, there will be some restrictions on their being handled due in part to ESD precautions.

SEAS (Student Environmental Action Society) will be hosting a seminar on Feb. 17th at 4:30 in Bldg 58A, Rm 101 with Gulf Power. A representative from the Crist Power Plant will be speaking about the environmental impact and research/remediation efforts that the plant is undergoing. Renewable energy will also be discussed.
Open questions will follow the presentation.
Refreshments will be provided.
