Dr Heise is Associate Director for the Florida Institute for Human and Machine Cognition. She previously served 20 years in the United States Air Force, where she was most recently Director of the Mathematics and Information Sciences Directorate at the Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR). Dr Heise holds the Ph.D. degree in Control Engineering from Cambridge University, England. She is an associate fellow of the AIAA and a senior member of the IEEE.
